About Her Life[]
Redd Heart is the main antagonist in Frank Beddor's The Looking Glass Wars, and is suggested to be based on both the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts. Both her and her sister Genevieve were raised and educated within Heart Palace. Bibwit Harte, Redd's tutor, has always viewed her fall into the diabolical as a failure in her education. Thus, the civil war fought within Wonderland was fought with Redd and Genevieve on opposing sides, leading to Redd's eviction to the Chess Board Desert. She is also a user of Black Imagination, similar to the Dark Side of the Force from Star Wars, and responsible for the murder of Alyss' parents. Later, Redd crowned herself Queen, promoting both evil and Black Imagination across the lands. After a fierce battle with her niece, she jumps into the Heart Crystal, disappearing, leaving Alyss and the rest of her friends to wonder whether she is alive or dead. Redd was the daughter of Queen Theodora and King Tyman of Wonderland. During her youth, Redd exhibited behavior consistent with Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), described as an ongoing pattern of anger-guided disobedience, hostility and defiant behavior toward authority figures which goes beyond the bounds of normal childhood behavior. Concerned that Redd would be a cruel monarch, her parents Theodora and Tyman removed her from succession and named Red's sister heir to the throne, though Redd killed Theodora in her sleep before she (Redd's mother) could announce the decision publicly. Redd is portrayed as an utter sociopath with sadistic and masochistic tendencies and like most clinically diagnosed sociopaths, she makes no attempt to mask her ruthless behavior, lashing out anyone when given the chance. Despite her ruthless behavior, Redd is brave and intelligent individual, displaying acts of fearlessness and lack of nervousness. She does NOT have a kind heart and shows no mercy when it comes to ruling.

She has red hair and likes to wear a red dress with live, thorned, carnivorous roses on it. She is said to resemble "a nightmarish version of Genevieve" in book one, and in Seeing Redd it was noted that she had "allowed corruption to gnarl and ravage her features" at some point. Although the exact time this took place was unspecified, it was mentioned that, as a teenager, she had looked like an ordinary girl. She was always ignorant during lessons from the Hart family Tutor, Bibwit Harte. Thus she is now a cruel sorceress who only seeks to take power over The Heart Crystal.
